so i found the rug of my dreams, which sound ridiculous, but this is a “poem” rug from BALLARD DESIGNS that would look perfect under our new dining table set. it incorporates literature, my favorite thing in the world and it’s actually priced pretty reasonably considering it’s a hand hooked rug, which is very popular right now, it’s made of durable materials, and comes in a few different colors. of course i like the cream and black one. here’s a little description that i adore and completely sold this piece for me.
“The elegant poem rug design was created with words from famed 17th century French fabulist, Jean de La Fontaine. La Cigale et La Fourmi tells the story of an industrious ant, a carefree cricket and the end of summer. Inspired by the fables of Aesop, La Fontaine wrote volumes of simple poems using animals to teach real-life lessons.”

after scouring the internet for shower curtains we may have found the one. it’s from urban outfitters, so unfortunately we can’t add it to our wedding registry, but it’s definitely a piece we’re planning on building the rest of our bathroom around.

i love this paper mache rhino head from Anthropologie. the text on the material used is perfect. i thought a white ceramic rhino wouldn’t add enough character/texture to the area and just blend in with everything else, but now this will allow us to incorporate darker accessories on the mantle too.

i couldn’t think of what we would put on the wall to the left of where the dining table would be, when facing the fireplace—then i came across these fork and spoon prints from pottery barn and i thought this would be the perfect way to tie the dining room and kitchen into one big area. they’re pretty pricey, so my next project is to find inexpensive versions of these for the house.

this bead-board entry cabinet is the exact reason i want to knock out the closet and wall in our entry way. pushing back the wall would give us the exact space we need to have this.

this “salon tea pillow-top settee” is available at target! this would be the perfect piece for our music room, our outdoor seating area, or even off of the kitchen in the space we have a million ideas for.

i’ve been obsessively looking through COUNTRY LIVING online after my mom gave me some of their magazines. they offer such great ideas for any area of the home. this living room was one of my favorite photos. the french provincial settee to the left is my favorite piece of furniture, and i adore the glass covered shelving around the fireplace.

this was a sink area that was suggested for outfitting the corner of a garage—which i think is genius. the apron-front sink is perfect, and i adore the open shelving on the top too.

adore the legs on the table and the chairs at the ends are perfect.

i want off white curtains, and this photo just confirms my vision of a dinning area that has mostly white pieces/decor with off white accents like curtains, runners, rugs…
